About Rachel
Coaching with Depth & Insight
For over two decades, I’ve worked with senior leaders and entrepreneurs across the English-speaking world, offering executive and leadership coaching grounded in behavioural science, lived experience, and deep professional expertise.
My clients span many industries, but they share a common goal: to lead others well and achieve meaningful goals. I’m proud to be a Fellow of the Association for Coaching and to contribute to the next generation of leaders through my teaching in the MBA and Executive MBA programs at the Graduate School of Business, Queensland University of Technology. My academic teaching focus includes negotiation, leadership, coaching, and complexity.
My professional journey began in medicine. I trained as a medical doctor and psychiatrist and spent years practising psychotherapy before switching to executive coaching. Today, I’m recognised as a specialist in applying behavioural science to coaching. My e-book, ‘Applying Acceptance and Commitment Training to Work-Related Coaching’, has been translated into both French and Farsi, reflecting its global relevance and practical value.
The Journey That Shaped
My Approach
My earliest professional experiences were as a junior doctor in a small hospital in Nottinghamshire, England, treating patients with life-threatening illnesses. Those years shaped me profoundly and continue to influence my coaching philosophy.
Here are a few enduring lessons that guide my work:
– Curiosity is powerful – Asking thoughtful questions, and truly listening to the answers, is the most effective way to support meaningful change.
– Every moment matters – It’s the small, intentional choices we make each day that create a purposeful life.
– Time is finite, spend it well – Every session I offer is designed to be purposeful, impactful, and focused on what truly matters.
– Relationships are everything. In the end, the quality of our connections defines the quality of our lives. Don’t wait to nurture them.
As a psychiatrist, I led multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure, high-stakes environments. I worked closely with individuals and families navigating profound psychological challenges. This work deepened my compassion and sharpened my ability to support my clients as they navigated difficulties and did the challenging work of growth.
Today, I bring all of that experience to my work with individuals and couples who are ready not just to survive, but to truly thrive. My goal is to help clients build lives, and relationships, that are rich in meaning, connection, and impact.
A Science-Based Approach to
Leadership Coaching

My coaching is grounded in evidence-based methods and the latest research in psychology and leadership. I draw on Positive Psychology, Behavioural Science, and research on effective leadership to deliver coaching that is practical, insightful, and results-focused.
In 2003, I was lucky enough to train with Martin Seligman and other experts in Positive Psychology through the Authentic Happiness Coaching program. This foundation in the science of flourishing helps my coaching clients to set and achieve meaningful goals that also build happiness and satisfaction in life.
My clients also need me to understand best practice in leadership and business. I am so grateful to the brilliant academics I work with at the Graduate School of Business at QUT who help me to integrate practical expertise with academic insights.
Helping Leaders Build
Thriving Relationships
Many of the leaders I coach don’t just want to succeed at work – they want to flourish at home. They want their most important relationship to thrive, to be a source of mutual support and happiness.
The science of relationships has advanced significantly in recent decades. From John Gottman’s extraordinary observations of couples in his ‘love lab’ to Dr Susan Johnson’s groundbreaking interventions with couples. The field of relationship coaching has been utterly transformed.
With my background in psychotherapy, family therapy, and mediation – and a deep understanding of the pressures leaders face, I saw a unique opportunity to help.
I’ve since undertaken extensive training in evidence-based relationship models and now support individuals and couples to build strong, joyful, and resilient partnerships.
